Bill brings his well-honed palate to the table each time he makes one of our wines. He has an uncanny ability to create wines that express both power and finesse. He is not satisfied by making wines that are just well extracted, but strives to craft wines of nuance and complexity. Thanks to this approach, Terre Rouge and Easton wines are often compared to the most stylish European bottlings. Bill says that this is largely due to the terroir of the Sierra Foothill region.

TERRE ROUGE means "Red Earth". This vermillon-colored soil is one of hallmarks of our region. Our vineyards are in soils that are largely granite and volcanic-based. The TERRE ROUGE portfolio is composed of wines made from Rhône varietals grown in the rugged and varying terroirs of this region.

Bill puts his family name, EASTON, on certain lots of non-Rhône varietals. The wines that encompass this portfolio are the varietals that have traditionally worked the best in Amador County and California. Most of our low-yielding vineyards are meticulously maintained using sustainable farming practices. The wines are aged in the best available cooperage in our solar powered winery. No expense is spared in bringing our customers some of the finest artisan wines made in the world.
