ASCENT Syrah
Welcome to the ASCENT Syrah page, home to the highest rated wine in the Sierra Foothills.
Each year Bill Easton, an orginal Rhône Ranger, crafts his winemaker Syrah named ASCENT from several Sierra Foothills vineyard sites ranging up to 3000' elevation. All of the grapes are grown in selected Syrah sites scattered throughout the Sierra Nevada Foothills in granite and volcanic-based soils. Only 8 barrels are produced and spend 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels before bottle ageing. This is a deeply concentrated wine with dense layers of aromatic complexity. In the mouth you’ll find thick concentrated and riotous smoky wood tones, exotic spices, minerality and fine tannins. This wine has great structure and ageing potential.
n 2020, the 2016 vintage was awarded 100 points by the Wine Enthusiast and is now #2 on their Top 100 List for 2020. The 2016 TERRE ROUGE Syrah, ASCENT was pre-released and allocated in February after receiving 100 points, and a small qunatity re-released for Fall 2020. On January 1st, 2021 this wine has gone back to our cellar for further élevage.

- An adult signature is required to accept delivery: All packages shipped via UPS. We will ship via FedEx if requested, especially if you would like your wines shipped to a FedEx Store location near you. They will sign for the wine and hold it for 5 days until you can pick it up. All FedEx shipments will go out at the beginning of each week. Alternatively, we can ship to a business address or UPS store if needed.
