Terre Rouge was established in the late 80's making white and rosé wines from Rhône varietals. When we started the EASTON label in 1991, we added Sauvignon Blanc to the portfolio. We often say that our whites are made for red wine drinkers, as they are full of complexity and nuance and age very well.

In 2003, we left a barrel of Roussanne oxidizing in the cellar. Slowly the wine reduced for 5 years and was bottled with the name ROX, for oxidized Roussanne. The result is a lovely aperitif to serve chilled, on the rocks, or in a cocktail. The flavors are much like a dry Sherry, a bit nutty, making it perfect with dried cheeses and charcuterie.

At a wine tasting in Paris, a French sommelier compared this wine to an Hermitage Blanc. This, a great compliment to Bill Easton, is exactly what he was after when the Monarch Mine Vineyard was planted with a Roussanne clone from a special parcel in Hermitage.

We get raves for our Sauvignon Blanc from this 2500' elevation vineyard for its balance of minerality and soft flavors of melon and papaya.
It is hard to drink just one glass of this great apéritif wine.
Vive le rosé!
We love our Vin Gris d'Amador all year long, but we get really excited when the New Release is bottled. This is the wine that goes with everything, anytime - brunch, lunch, late afternoon on a warm day.

This Rhône white, more than any other Terre Rouge white, tastes like the south of France. Imagine sitting on a shaded patio in Provençe, sipping some cold Grenache Blanc with brandade toasts and green olive tapenade.

Winemaker Bill Easton calls this Reserve Roussanne " white wine for red wine drinkers" for its level of intensity. Our Roussanne fruit in 2011 was fully ripe at harvest in mid-October. We kept six of our barrels separate and gave this wine an extended élevage on lees for 18 months. This Reserve bottling is made from these selected lots and shows amplified richness, complexity, and minerality.
