90 Points - The Wine Enthusiast

Winemaker Bill Easton calls this Reserve Roussanne " white wine for red wine drinkers" for its level of intensity. Our Roussanne fruit in 2011 was fully ripe at harvest in mid-October. We kept six of our barrels separate and gave this wine an extended élevage on lees for 18 months. This Reserve bottling is made from these selected lots and shows amplified richness, complexity, and minerality.

96 Pts. The Wine Enthusiast - TOP 100 CELLAR SELCTION

91 points - Wine Spectator,

Each year Bill Easton crafts his winemaker Syrah from several Sierra Foothills vineyard sites ranging up to 3000' elevation. Only 8 barrels are produced and spend 22 months in 100% new French oak barrels before bottle ageing. This is a top scoring wine every year!

"Lovely, spicy floral aromas and generous, complex and layered flavors make the wine irrisistable, while its strong but velvety texture sets it up for a long life in the cellar for those who can resist". The Wine Enthusiast

Our 2010 EASTON Estate Zinfandel was featured on the cover of the Wine Enthusiast and received great scores from many publications. This wine has developed even more in the bottle rewarding us with great depth of flavors. This wine is a good example of our cellar aging program. Bill releases no wine before it is ready to drink.

This single vineyard Syrah is from the oldest Syrah vineyard in the Sierra Nevada (est. 1982) and one of the most famous Syrah sites in California. The parcel is planted all on its own roots. The vines originate from the Chapoutier Hermitage property (UCD Clone 1). We have made a special bottling of this wine, grown just down the road from the winery, since 1990.

Earlier this year this wine was offered to our Elevage club members, and now to you. Limited quantity.

Color is dark purple, with complex aromas of cedar, tobacco, and asian spice box. The fruit is blackberry/ cassis/olive with a pleasant St. Julien-like texture, mineral-infused flavors, and sappiness. The wine has good balance, intensity, a plush texture, and length. We think this is the best Cabernet Sauvignon we have made to date.
