This is the sixteenth vintage of our estate-bottled Zinfandel. The fruit originates from an old Shenandoah Valley property that was planted in the early 1970’s. Vines are head-trained and unirrigated with our normal winter rains suppling all of the requisite water. The vineyard is rigorously
suckered for proper cluster spacing and sun exposure to get full flavor development.
This Zin stays in French oak for 22 months and then in further bottled aged for several years before relase. Our Zinfandels have no residual sugar and nice balancing acidity. This wine will age nicely for at least twenty years. Bill and Jane recently had the 1999 version of this wine for dinner and were blown away by its relative youthfulness. Who says Zin doesn't age?
